Silver Qualifying Information Sept 27-29 2019

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 2 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

We are holding the Silver Qualifying Expedition on 27th, 28th, 29th September. This is from Friday to Sunday. Mr Denton has agreed to the Duke of Edinburgh participants having the Friday off school.

You will have to fill in an absence request form which can be obtained from school. They will also need to collect all work they’ll miss from their lessons in order to catch up.

The kit will be handed out on Thursday 19th September and a kit check will be on Wednesday 25th September.

The expedition is to be in the Howgills area. The drop off point is Spar Carpark, Sedbergh, Station Rd, Cumbria LA10 5DL. All groups to arrive for 7.30am.

The pick up point is St Bartholomew’s Church, Banneriggs Brow, Barbon, Carnforth LA6 2LJ. We hope to be at the drop off point between 2 – 4pm but we will get them to text when roughly two hours away.

They need packed lunches for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They need a hot breakfast for Saturday and Sunday and they need a substantial hot meal for Friday and Saturday evening.

There is a meeting for both young people and parents on Wednesday 25th September at 6.45pm at Amplify Youth Group HQ, St Anne’s Pastoral Centre, Prescot Road, L39 4TG.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact myself, or any of the other DofE Leaders.
