Hi All
Our first training weekend is fast approaching on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th November.
The training will commence at 9am on each day at Walton le Dale Young People’s Centre, opposite Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre.

(Map and directions here)

PLEASE CAN YOU CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE ON THE WEEKEND BY REPLYING TO [email protected]gov.uk

Saturday will be based at the centre, although you will be outside during large parts of the morning, so come prepared for what either the weather has in store.  During the afternoon the training will focus on navigation in preparation for our navigation exercise on the Sunday.

REALLY IMPORTANT – If you haven’t already done so, please can you complete and return your consent form by post (Here) before Wednesday 23rd November.  Post back to  Martyn Lawrensin 3rdFloor, 58-60 Guildhall Street, Preston PR1 3NU

Walton le Dale Centre – The young people’s centre has a fully fitted kitchen with oven, microwave, toaster etc, so you can bring your own pack lunch or something to warm up.  I will provide access to hot drinks and toast.

Sunday will see us travel up to Lancaster, into an area known as Littledale.  Minibuses will be leaving from Poulton le Fydle and Walton le Dale at 9am.  You’ll need to confirm transport arrangements by the Saturday.

If you would prefer to travel direct to the location then please go to the car park area at Little Cragg in Littledale Grid Ref SD546618.  This is best approached from M6, coming off at Lancaster North (Jnc 34) and heading on A683 for Caton.  I will provide an info sheet on the Saturday!

Please see kit list attached that you’ll need for the Sunday only.  Kit list here

Please can you ensure you bring your £45.00 payment to cover the training weekends, which is due by the first weekend.  Thanks to those that have already paid.  Cheques should be made payable to Lancashire County Council

Finally, both myself and the volunteer team are looking forward to meeting you all and supporting you through your expedition experience.

Remember do not bring the form on the Saturday as I have to copy them and give them to a colleague on the Thursday before.  Please act now or your place will be at risk!

I have received forms from 10 people so far, but have 28 names

Final cut off for forms to be returned will be 5pm Thursday 24th November.

I have attached a copy of the expedition training planner (HERE), so that you have an idea of what we’ll be doing each time we meet on the weekends.

The training will start at 9am and finish at 4.30pm on the Saturdays.  Please see map with directions to the venue.

Look forward to meeting you all on the 26th
