DofE practice walk – Sunday 13th March 2016

The times they are a-changin’.

This post seems to be older than 4 years—a long time on the internet. It might be outdated.

We will be holding a practice walk to help with navigation on Sunday March 13th 2016. We will be meeting at St Anne’s Amplify Youth Room at 9.00am. We will spend a little bit of time briefing the young people and making sure the routes are understood. We will then separate them in to walking groups and set off at intervals. Parents should be aware that we may finish early, in which case we will contact them with a rough time of arrival.

Parents are welcome to walk with us.

Just to clarify, this walk is just for those who are new to DofE. If you have already had a practice expedition  or are completing your silver your don’t need to participate in this walk.

We will be joined on the walk by Andrea Booth, who is a trained DofE expedition leader. Andrea is very good at teaching and leading groups and will be with us on the expedition weekend.

This session is part of your young persons training, but we do realise that they have other commitments. If at all possible please try to get them to attend.

As this session is outside of the normal conditions, we need to have a completed parental consent form. Click here for consent form
